These motors are 2.0 F and 2.5 FT, running on bioethanol. Latter was updated by Volvo.
«Turbofive» 2.5, able to work on the E85 fuel, after the reconstruction of electronics gives 231 horsepower and 340 N • m instead of 200 horsepower and 300 newton-meters. And fuel consumption in combined cycle, by contrast, fell by 5% for cars with mechanical gearbox (8,6 l) and by 6% for the automatic versions (9,6 l).
Sedans S80 and V70 with a universal engine will be presented on the European market in June 2009. Unfortunately, official representatives of Swedish companies do not say anything about the changes of «turbofive» 2.5, running only on gasoline.

But the scientific council of USSR rejected the project - implementation of the invention threatened to closure of dozens of academic institutions working on energy-saving technologies.
The prototype for the engine was the Ferdinand Porsche car, but instead of fuel Vitaly uses air under pressure, which runs engine pistons and makes the car move. According to Vitaly Frolov: “If you put it into the car – you do not need a gearbox, a rear shift, you will have just a lever, one – back, one - forwards. It is especially convenient for women. And exhaust, which we will get, is more refined.” The car, which was with Frolov’s engine, was noted by VDNKh award, and in 1986 the inventor awarded Gorbachev award - 600 roubles for a victory in the competition for the project “environmentally friendly cars”.
The new engine was planned to be applied for the Antonov planes, first 300 engines were even produced for the experimental machine. But The Soviet leaders abandoned the environmental transport. However, the Ukrainian economy was interested by this engine. Vladimir Timoshenko, Engineer branch of “Yuzhmash”: “Because nothing similar have not yet been invented in the world, these machines have the highest efficiency - they spent just a little power, have minimum dimensions and minimum weight. You can get the maximum profit at minimum cost.”
